Which of the challenges has made the biggest impact on you this week?
No matter if we`re younger or older we are to be examples for each other and for the whole body of Christ.
Consider these passages of Scripture
1Tim. 4:12 says, “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
The New Testament has much to say on the topic of being an example… For instance, the Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians, “I exhort you therefore, be imitators of me.” (1Cor.4:16). Also, in Philippians, he wrote, “join in following my example” (3:17) and “The things you have learned, received, heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you (4:9). See also I Thess. 1:5-6; 2 Thess 3:7-9
As younger men, do you feel despised or looked down upon because of your youth by older men?
As older men, do you sense being disrespected by younger men?
Do you really believe ( younger or older) that your example can make a difference in the area of purity?
In what ways do you think you are setting a good example to the people of your church in the area of purity?
In the battle to live our lives of purity and holiness to God, He has given us weapons to use in our fight against the enemy. Every word, every look, every thought ought to be well guarded in order that Satan may not take advantage. The Bible tells us in 2 Cor.10:4-5 ” the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh , but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds… bringing every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Put on the whole armor of God (Eph.6)
Men, young and old, I exhort you to be an example to the believers in purity. We are indwelled by God the Holy Spirit and it is his joy to make us holy and His delight to help us become an example in purity to each other and to the church.
