Sharing our faith does not need to be limited to a particular method. Preaching on a street corner, passing out gospel tracts, and coffeehouse conversations have all been used of the Lord to convict people of sin and draw them to faith in the Savior. Whatever method wisdom would lead us to employ, one defining factor that must always be present is the readiness to express who Jesus is and why everyone must trust in Him for salvation from sin: “In your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15, ESV).

We should have such a natural desire to share the beauty and power of the gospel. I pray that the Lord would build such an affection within my heart as we meet families who visit our church or as we host events such as the Open Gym or even respond from requests in our community to join a Teen Volunteer Fair at the library. Join with me in praying for such a heart, that the world may know eternal life, as Jesus said, “that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent” (John 17:3).
