The middle and high school students at Cornerstone will soon be exploring the spiritual discipline of Bible Intake. This not only refers to meditating on Scripture but also to listening to Scripture being read (like from a CD), establishing a regular time to read Scripture each day, sticking to a Bible reading plan, and surrounding yourself with the Word in Sunday school, worship services, and other ministries of the local church. There are so many ways to take in, hear, study, and be challenged by God’s Word!
With this in mind, I would like to leave you with an encouragement of Scripture (Psalm 19:7-11) to see the eternal and supreme value of absorbing and studying God’s Word, as well as a great resource for Bible reading plans (several to choose from, and you can even track your progress on a calendar!): https://www.biblegateway.com/reading-plans/
7 The law of the Lord is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple;
8 the precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
9 the fear of the Lord is clean,
the rules of the Lord are true,
and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
and drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
