Ten students from Cornerstone are joining dozens of other students from a variety of other Northeast Ohio churches for a singular purpose – make Jesus known to the children and families of Painesville and Ashtabula. These cities in particular make for an interesting connection for me personally, as my great-grandfather was from nearby Concord and attended church at the First Church of Christ in Painesville. The Lord saved him and introduced faith in Christ to the Littler side of the family through his ministry as a father and deacon. The Lord reached him with the gospel message of Jesus Christ at the God-appointed hour, and he left a legacy of faith in Christ.
I wonder what child or parent today is also ready for a divinely-orchestrated appointment with the gospel message. God has equipped our students with the spiritual and physical resources to tell others about Christ, and they are going to receive some helpful training before they lead the backyard Bible clubs this week which will provide a fun but open forum for explaining who Jesus is and why each listener needs to know Him. Please pray that the Lord would strengthen each student for the busy but rewarding week ahead. Ask the Lord to soften the hearts of the lost and prepare them to receive the gospel message and respond with faith. The students will be encouraged to know that their church is behind them, laboring in prayer for their ministry efforts and waiting with watchful anticipation to see how the Lord answers in ways we could not imagine.
